With the generosity of Tesco’s we have now been able to purchase new tents for our young people, enhancing the experience for our female members and also providing tent accommodation for our young leaders on camps and DoE activities which we provide at Hythe Sea Scouts. Thank you very much.
A huge thank you to everyone in our community who voted for us during this round of the Tesco community funding. With 32,046 votes we have won and will be given the 1st price of the funding which we help us tremendously.
It’s great having your support in the community so we can continue to support our Young People in the Group.

Our first fundraising event was a huge success, all sections got involved and cycle as many miles as they could which totalled a fantastic 193 miles. Donations are still coming in but we have reached the £2,000 mark.

Our Beavers showed great teamwork at the weekend and took home the first place trophy for the District Tug of War. The day included groups from across the District including Beavers, Cubs & Scouts.

Well done to all.

4th Hythe now consist of 5 Scouting Sections from Squirrels aged 4 years old to Explorers. Every section are extremely successful and are at capacity with 100 young people across the Group & 50 on our waiting list.
Due to this success we have had to temporarily close our waiting lists for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.

If you are able to volunteer your time as a Leader or in another key role within the Group we will be able to ensure your young person has a place in the Group.

Our Beaver colony enjoyed their first ever camp at the weekend, joined by our Cub pack who haven’t been able to camp due to Covid restriction.

They had a fun packed weekend at our Scout Hut on Shore Road including games and camp fires.

We are pleased to welcome our newest and youngest section to the Group, our Squirrel Drey are for those young people aged 5-6 years old. For more information and joining our waiting list please visit their page.

Royal Navy linked

Hythe Sea Scouts is proud to be linked to the Royal Navy as part of the Admiralty Recognition Scheme. Not only does this allow us to access funding for our activities but also allows us to visit RN sites and take part in events for RN Sea Scouts across the country. Over the last 10 years many of our members have gone on to have successful careers within the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy .

Volunteering

Volunteer for a rewarding cause

Are you looking for a rewarding role? We are in need of assistant leaders within our Scouting sections, give as much time as you can so our young people can continue to enjoy Scouting and learning skills for life.

Fundraising

We need you for us to succeed

Since our fundraising committee was formed in 2016, we have raised an outstanding amount of money but our work must not stop. We are looking for passionate people who are up for a challenge. We have now secured our Scout Hut from erosion, strengthened our boathouse & had our toilets completely refurbished, installed a new changing room among other projects. We have more projects which need funds so we can improve our facilities and equipment our young persons will benefit from. Please check out our fundraising page for the latest details and goals

Adult volunteers

Volunteering in Scouting is easy and flexible – how much time you give is completely up to you.
